Gerardo Serrano Program Analyst, Institute on Health Care Costs and Solutions
Gerardo Serrano is a program analyst with the National Business Group on Health’s Institute on Health Care Costs and Solutions. He staffs the Institute and the National Leadership Committee on Employer and Health Plan Solutions (NLCEHPS), and is responsible for planning the semi-annual Employer’s Summit on Health Care Costs and Solutions. His areas of focus are health care costs as it relates to primary care physician payment reform, never-event payment policies, and health plan centers of excellence. Prior to joining the Business Group, Serrano was a research fellow at AARP analyzing state health reform with respect to health disparities solutions. Prior to AARP, he worked at the Johns Hopkins Center for Injury Research and Prevention and the Center for Health Disparities Solutions as a research assistant collecting data for a variety of research projects.
Serrano earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in public health studies from the Johns Hopkins University and his Master of Health Science degree in health policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH). He also holds a certificate in health finance and management from JHSPH.
