Legal requirements and local regulations are ever-changing, which means that nearly every action, including benefit design changes, mergers and acquisition integration, and mobility across borders, has a legal impact that must be considered to avoid triggering compliance issues. While it’s not feasible to be an expert on the legal nuances of each country, it is possible to increase awareness of the concepts and situations that require further evaluation. The answers may differ by circumstance, but questions to ask are often consistent.
