A total of 19 large employer members of Business Group on Health responded to this survey, conducted between October 29 and November 5, 2021. The purpose of this survey was to understand ways that global employers can address urgent mental health cases when an employee is at risk of harm to self or others due to mental distress.
- 74% of participants have a protocol in place when an employee is at risk of harm to self or others.
- 83% of participants with a protocol in place reported that a team or an individual responds to these situations when they occur.
- 21% of these participants reported that this team or individual is dedicated to this work in a full-time capacity.
- Participants reported that several business units are responsible for outreach to an employee in crisis, including HR business partners (55%) and employee relations business partners (55%). Furthermore, most participants (54%) reported that their mental health response is managed in-house.
