While many employers are familiar with birth doulas, lesser known are death doulas – those who support people as they near the end of life. On this episode of the Business Group on Health podcast, we delve deeper into death doulas and the role they play with Alua Arthur, founder of Going with Grace, an organization that seeks to help the dying answer, “What must I do to be at peace with myself so that I may live presently and die gracefully?” We also discuss the movement to transform death from the unmentionable to something we talk about and contemplate openly and thoughtfully, why some employers are taking note of death doulas and what they might need to consider when providing this type of support for their workforce.
