Benefits of applying

Best Employers winners gain visibility, are invited to speak about their programs during webinars and conferences and are frequently featured in newspapers and HR publications that address health and well-being initiatives.

 

2020 Best Employers: Excellence in Health & Well-being award winners will receive:

 

  • An award to display in the office; awards are shipped directly to the address listed in the application.
  • A recognition certificate acknowledging the organization's achievement. The certificate will be presented at the awards dinner on October 5, 2020 in Nashville, TN.
  • Companies that receive the Global Distinction will receive a separate award and certificate. Use of the awards program logo for marketing and promotional purposes. Places to use the logo:
    • Website
    • Career/employment section
    • Benefits section
    • 'About us' section
    • Email signature
    • Wellness/well-being promotion materials
    • External/internal presentations
    • Back covers of brochures with information about the organization
    • Letterhead
    • Business cards
  • A press release template, that you may use as is or adapt as necessary to use with your local media and to post on your website.
  • Recognition in the awards dinner program and a listing on the Business Group website.

U.S. Award Levels

  • Platinum: Reserved for organizations who have implemented a workforce well-being strategy with demonstrated results across several dimensions of well-being. Further, a connection between workforce well-being and key business outcomes has been recognized. Platinum awards represent the top tier of all applicants.
  • Gold: Awarded to organizations with a strong commitment to holistic well-being and related metrics. These programs and results represent the next tier of achievement in a competitive and well-qualified applicant pool.
  • Silver: Awarded to organizations with emerging well-being strategies and metrics, often with a strong focus on physical health. The silver level was reinstituted to recognize the achievements of companies in transition to broader well-being.

Application Evaluation

Applications are judged by a panel of peer judges from Business Group member companies. Judges are trained to follow established scoring processes and guidelines. In order to maintain transparency and impartiality, company programs are evaluated only on the strength of the submitted application for 2020.

 

Companies are required to submit results and outcomes data in the Outcomes Documentation Addendum of the application. Submitted data will be used to provide judges additional context and support the answers for the Outcomes section.

 

All submitted company-specific information will be kept private and confidential. Judges must agree to and accept a confidentiality statement stating that all information reviewed will be used solely for the purpose of judging the application.

 

Awards are given based on program specifics, comprehensiveness and results. Please answer each question to the best of your ability to obtain the maximum points.

 

Global Distinction Application Evaluation

Each application will be judged by member companies and Business Group judges. All judges are trained to follow established scoring processes and guidelines. In order to maintain transparency and impartiality, judges are instructed that they can only use answers provided in the 2020 applications. Some applicants may be invited to participate in an interview to obtain more information as a part of the evaluation process.

 

Business Group on Health understands that:

  • Corporate action to promote healthy lifestyles globally is rapidly evolving.
  • Local health care infrastructure may not be equipped to tackle health care needs.
  • There are varying structural, societal, environmental and cultural impediments to health around the world.
  • These issues will be taken into account during the judging process.

All company-specific information provided in Global Distinction applications will be kept private and confidential.

 

All judging decisions are final.

Volunteer to be a Judge

Business Group on Health HR/Benefits professional members who are not applying in the current application year are eligible to judge.

*Consultants, health plans/providers, and others with many employer clients are likely to have conflicts of interest therefore are ineligible to judge.
