Seventy-seven employers responded to this survey, conducted between April 24, 2023, and May 8, 2023. This survey examines how large employers are adjusting their plan designs in response to the end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) and the National Emergency (NE).
- 69% of employers have indicated they will not cover or provide over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 tests after the PHE ends.
- 93% of employers have indicated they will continue to cover qualifying COVID-19 treatments after the PHE ends.
- 80% of employers have indicated they will establish or continue an in-network arrangement for COVID-19 vaccinations after the PHE ends.
- 45% of employers have indicated they will send out special communications to their employees regarding the end of the PHE and NE and the implications to their health plan coverage.
