While most employers have an overarching global mental health strategy, implementation takes place at the local level, with all its nuances and variances. Treatment in one country may be covered in full by the national system while all visits are paid for out-of-pocket in another. Suicide attempts may lead to hospitalizations in some locations while in others they could lead to jail time. It is important for employers to know this context so they can make initiatives and communications successful.
